COVID-19 Update: March 17, 2020

Per a directive from the Region of Waterloo, the club will remain closed until at least April 5th. More information on whether we will reopen after that date will come as the situation develops and as we get closer to that date.

COVID-19 Update: March 16, 2020

In light of the recent developments on the COVID-19 situation, we have decided to cancel all classes as of March 16th until further notice. Although we are not aware of any cases at our club, we wish to exercise as much caution as possible and minimise social interactions.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will keep you updated via this website. If you wish to be updated via email, please use the contact page on this website and we will add you to the distribution list.

COVID-19

March 13, 2020

The club plans to remain open during regular hours awaiting further developments on the COVID-19 situation.

We encourage all members to follow the guidelines set by the Ontario Ministry of Health, the Government of Canada, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization, as well as the FIE.

We ask that:

1. All athletes, parents, and coaches who are experiencing symptoms, or who have come into contact with individuals who tested positive for Coronavirus, should self-isolate at home, rather than attend practice.
2. Per the FIE bulletin, handshakes after a bout or match are suspended until further notice. After a bout, athletes should salute each other, but should refrain from shaking hands.

Updates will be posted as the situation develops.

Closed for Family Day (Monday Feb 17)

Note that the club will be closed on Monday February 17th for Family Day. Fencing will resume on Wednesday February 19th.

End-of-year Potluck (and holiday break information)

The end of the year is fast approaching. Wednesday December 18th will be the last day of fencing for the year, and we will return on Monday January 6th.

On Wednesday December 18, we will be hosting a potluck/movie night. Please arrive promptly to not miss the beginning of an amazing film!

Nov 11 - Winter Travel Advisory - Fencing Cancelled

Due to the sudden influx of winter, we'll be cancelling fencing tonight.

Technical Issues

We have been experiencing some issues with our website and email services over the past week.

If you've attempted to email us (@excelsiorfencing.ca) between October 13th and October 25th and have not received a response, we may not have received the email. Please wait until the 26th and send it again.

AGM 2019 - October 23rd

The AGM will be held at the club on Wednesday, October 23rd. All members and their parents are encouraged to attend.

The gym will be open for fencing after the meeting.

Welcome Back!

September is here, and with that means a new season of fencing.

We'll be open for bouting and registration on Wednesday, September 4th, and regular programming will resume on Monday, September 9th.
